Good morning! Good news, I've joined Bloglovin! Please follow me!
Another weekend come and gone, here's how this past week looked through Instagram. You can also view them through Webstagram, my name is lookforkim.
Last Sunday Dave and I popped into an antique shop in town that recently changed locations. This was a pretty tablecloth folded over a railing I found beautiful.

DIY: Gift Tags from Greeting Cards
What have you done with all your Christmas cards from this season? Well, seeing as it's almost February, you've probably gotten rid of them by now. Though knowing just when to do so is not always an easy choice.
One way to soften the guilt the comes with tossing greeting cards it to repurpose them as pretty gift tags. Birthday or Mother's Day cards can easily double as bridal or baby shower gift tags, or the other way around.

Weekly Wednesday Envy: Colored Denim
This is a trend I've had my eye on for awhile. I had to warm up to it. When I first started seeing colored denim it seems like they were all bright bright bright! I'm in search of a great dark red pair like these below, or a fun purple or really saturated blue. And I love the lavender pencil skirt.
Here's how to wear them and look like a grown up. :oD

DIY Cookie Cutter Stencils & Green Tea Shortbread Recipe
Happy Chinese New Year's Eve and welcome to the year of the dragon! To celebrate I have a fun DIY post mixed with a baking post!
We're making green tea shortbread cookies shaped like little tea leaves. No leaf shaped cookie cutter needed! Here was my inspiration, and here are how mine came out, plus dipped in chocolate.

New Year's Resolution: Don't be a disaster
I was never much for making new year's resolutions because it seemed silly to me. Really, if you want to facilitate a change in your life, you can start it any time you like. So I'll just start now and call it a new year's resolution since it's still January.
My new year's resolution is to not be a disaster! I will explain...

Bake Apple Pie on a Stick
Baked goods on a stick are super trendy right now it seems. I know that because Starbucks has cake pops now. Inspired by some finds on Etsy, I decided to try out some apple pie pops!
Weekly Wednesday Envy: Mourning Jewelry
I may be a girlie girl but I also have a slight fascination with the macabre. Lately Victorian mourning jewelry is at the top of my "I want" list. Originally, mourning jewelry was made from jet. A "gemstone" of ancient, compressed wood, always black in color (likely where the expression "jet black" comes from).
It became popular during the reign of Queen Victoria, when the Queen wore Whitby jet as part of her mourning dress.
During the peak of its popularity between 1860 to 1890, more affordable and faster reproductions of authentic jet were used as it became the height of fashion.

home remedy: apple cider vinegar
I've been feeling a bit under the weather lately. It started with the sniffles, then a sore throat. Then that subsided but I still have some chest congestion going on and all around winter unpleasantness.
I googled some home remedies to help me feel better and started reading about the benefits of apple cider vinegar. Which is apparently good for quite a lot!

First post
Hello there new blog,
I'm almost nervous to start my first post, because I have big plans for this blog and I'm very excited about it!
I've been inspired by the many lovely, crafty blogs I come across and decided to start my own. I make and discover a lot of fun things that I want to share with the world.
First, I bake. I have my own recipe blog where I bake all sorts of fun things. Mostly cupcakes.
And I crochet things.
And read books, do yoga, and hang out with my husband-to-be Dave, my greyhound Odie, and my bunny Lillie.
I also work as a marketing manager for a publishing company, which is not that exciting.
That's all for now!
